Latvia’s current account deficit widened to EUR 106 million in May 2025 from EUR 87 million in the same month of the previous year, driven by a larger goods trade gap and a weaker services surplus. The goods deficit rose to EUR 339 million from EUR 248 million, while the services surplus narrowed to EUR 129 million from EUR 189 million. In contrast, the primary income account shifted to a EUR 30 million surplus from a EUR 79 million shortfall, and the secondary income surplus increased to EUR 75 million from EUR 52 million.
