26 March 2001, 10:16 German Feb import prices rise higher than forecast
Frankfurt, March 26 (BridgeNews) - German import prices rose slightly
above forecasts by 0.6% in February from January, and were up 5.4% on the
year, according to figures released by the Federal Statistics Office in
Wiesbaden Monday. The highest monthly rises were recorded for pork
(+11.2%), oil products (+5.3%) and mineral oil (+4.9%), while prices for
beef fell 9.3% on the month.
Excluding oil products, import prices were up 0.2% from January and up
5.3% on the year.
