Frankfurt--March 2--German plant and machinery orders in January rose a real 11% on the year, driven by a 17% annual rise in foreign orders, the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association (VDMA) on Friday said. German domestic plant and machinery orders in January rose a real 2% from January 2000. In the November-January period, which eliminates some of the short-term swings in cyclical business, total orders jumped a real 14% on the year, VDMA said.
