15 March 2001, 11:04 European bonds again take lead from equity markets
London, March 14 (BridgeNews) - European debt markets took their lead
from the global equity markets as bond fundamentals were thrown out the
window. With stock markets across the continent hitting multi-year lows,
many debt futures markets traded to contract highs--retreating only as
equities recovered. Bond markets gained an added boost in early trade when
international ratings agency Fitch placed 19 Japanese banks on Ratings
Watch Negative.
