Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Michael Moskow said Wednesday that the Fed needs to be "very watchful" and take "appropriate action" to avoid recession, but he disagreed the Fed is "behind the curve." Moskow, in transcripts of an interview taped for broadcast by public television's Nightly Business Report, said it is hard to say when the manufacturing sector will have completed the process of inventory adjustment.
