LONDON (MktNews) - UK total engineering turnover in the three months to December rose 1.9% versus the previous three months and was up 11.0% on the same period a year ago, seasonally adjusted figures by National Statistics showed Thursday. The quarterly increase was due to rises of 2.9% in home turnover and 0.7% in export turnover. Compared to the same period a year ago, home turnover increased by 11.4% while export turnover rose by 10.6%. Total orders on hand at the end of December were 0.6% lower than the level at the end of September, but were 10.9% higher than at the end of December 1999.
