31 July 2026, 10:28 Hungary: Producer Price Deflation Eases.
Producer prices in Hungary decreased by 0.4% year-on-year in June 2026, following a 0.7% decline in the previous month. Non-domestic output prices continued to fall, albeit at a slower pace (-1.4% vs -1.8% in May), while growth in domestic output prices eased (1.8% vs 1.9%). By sector, prices in mining and quarrying declined (-3.1% vs 0.4%), while inflation for water collection, treatment and supply eased (2.5% vs 2.7%). Meanwhile, the decline in overall industrial producer prices moderated (-0.4% vs -0.7%), while price growth for electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply accelerated (8.8% vs 7.5%). Manufacturing producer prices remained in decline at 2.2%. On a monthly basis, producer prices ticked up by 0.1%, reversing a 1.7% decline in the previous month.
