3 July 2026, 16:06 India: Sensex Finishes at Near 2-Month High.
India’s BSE Sensex closed about 0.3% up at 77,764 on Friday, the highest since early May and extending gains for a third straight session. A softer-than-expected US jobs report and declining crude oil prices, eased concerns over near-term interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve. The heavyweight tech sector continued to benefit from expectations that a more dovish US central bank could support technology stocks globally. HCL Tech (5.8%) led gains among stocks, with Tech Mahindra (1.8%), TCS (1.2%) and Infosys (0.6%) also advancing.
