21 July 2026, 12:58  Taiwan: Export Orders Surge to Record High.

Orders for Taiwanese exports surged 59.4% year-on-year to a record high of USD 95.3 billion in June 2026, accelerating from a 47.2% increase in the previous month. The sharp rise continued to be driven by robust global demand for AI-related and technology products. Significant growth was recorded across major categories, particularly information and communication products (81.9% vs 67.2% in May), electronic products (79.9% vs 61.2%), electrical machinery products (14.0% vs 7.6%), and basic metals (16.5% vs 9.6%). Export orders for transport equipment also rebounded strongly (12.3% vs -1.4%). Meanwhile, growth moderated for machinery products (17.6% vs 22.5%) and mineral products (30.5% vs 53.1%), while orders for optical, photographic, and cinematographic apparatus continued to decline (-3.3% vs -1.7%). Among major markets, export order growth remained strong, led by the US (83.6%), followed by the Mainland China and Hong Kong (37.2%), and the ASEAN countries (52.3%).
