2 July 2026, 09:56 Switzerland: Inflation Rate Hits 3-Month Low.
Consumer prices in Switzerland rose by 0.5% year-on-year in June 2026, matching market expectations but easing slightly from 0.6% in the previous month. It marked the lowest reading since March, as price pressures eased across major categories, particularly housing and energy (1.2% vs 1.5% in May) and transport (1.8% vs 2.0%). Inflation also moderated for restaurants and hotels (0.7% vs 1%), while prices for recreation, sport and culture were unchanged after rising 1.2% in May. In contrast, deflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages remained unchanged at 1.2%, while prices rebounded for clothing and footwear (0.1% vs -1.2%). Moreover, prices edged up for insurance and financial services (2.3% vs 2.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were flat, compared with market expectations of 0.1% and prior month's 0.2%.
