17 July 2026, 11:22  Germany: DAX Down for 3rd Day.

The DAX 40 fell 0.5% to around 24,800 on Friday, marking the third straight of losses, pressured by a sharp selloff in tech stocks and concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East. Oil prices remained elevated as the US and Iran intensified attacks across the Gulf, limiting oil flows out of the Strait of Hormuz, keeping inflation worries alive. Markets largely expect the ECB to maintain rates steady next week before potentially delivering a cut in September. Chipmaker Infineon Technologies (-5%) and AI infrastructure-linked Siemens Energy (-2.6%) and Hochtief (-2.5%) were among the worst performers. Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank also faced pressure, falling 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively.
