14 July 2026, 16:16  USA: Core Consumer Prices Unexpectedly Hold.

Core consumer prices in the United States, which exclude food and energy, were unchanged from the previous month in June of 2026, holding the 0.2% increase in May and undershooting market expectations that they would have risen by 0.2%. I)t was the first month without increases since January 2021. Prices fell for transportation services (-0.3% vs -0.6% in May), apparel (-0.6% vs 0.3%), and medical care services (-0.1% vs 0.5%). In turn, prices inched higher for shelter (0.1% vs 0.3%). From the previous year, core consumer prices were 2.6% higher.
