8 June 2026, 11:37 Slovakia: Construction Output Growth Eases.
Slovakia’s construction output rose by 13.2% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from an all-time high of 29.9% growth in the previous month. Domestic construction activity moderated to 17.7% after a 32.8% jump in March, weighed down by a decrease in the construction of buildings (18% vs 40.6%), new constructions and reconstructions (20.4% vs 33.8%), and repairs and maintenance (13.2% vs 29%). Additionally, construction abroad plunged 14.9% from an 11.4% increase a month earlier. In contrast, activity rose in civil engineering works (17.1% vs 15.3%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output declined by 6.7% in April. For the January–April period, construction production surged 13% year-on-year.
