France’s official reserve assets declined further to €381.30 billion at the end of May 2026 from €386.90 billion in April. This was the smallest amount since December 2025, amid decreases in gold reserves (€304.84 billion vs €310.09 billion in April), foreign currency reserves (€31.15 billion vs €31.65 billion), and other reserve assets (€6.46 billion vs €6.47 billion). Meanwhile, claims on the IMF rose to €38.85 billion from €38.68 billion in the previous month. In May 2025, total reserve assets stood at €304.61 billion.
