22 June 2026, 10:40  Turkey: Consumer Sentiment Hits 3-Year High.

Turkey’s consumer confidence index rose to 87.9 in June 2026 from 85.8 in May, according to the latest consumer tendency survey conducted jointly by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye. This marked the highest reading since May 2023, driven by a stronger assessment of households’ current financial situation, which increased to 72.3 from 69.2 in May, alongside continued improvement in expectations for the general economic outlook, rising to 83.9 from 81.4. Household financial expectations for the next 12 months also improved to 89.5 from 87.9, while willingness to spend on durable goods increased to 105.9 from 104.5. Despite the monthly improvement, the index remained below the neutral 100 level, indicating that consumer sentiment in Turkey is still broadly pessimistic.
