30 April 2026, 21:36  Greece: Retail Sales Growth Accelerates in February.

Retail sales in Greece rose by 4.6% year-on-year in February 2026, accelerating from 4.3% in the previous month. The growth was primarily driven by increased sales in food (7.4%) and the non-food sector, excluding automotive fuel (8.9%). In contrast, sales of automotive fuel declined to 3.1%. Meanwhile, among specialized store categories, retail growth was recorded in supermarkets (5.7%), department stores (2.7%), food, beverages, and tobacco (11.4%), pharmaceutical products and cosmetics (10.2%), furniture, electrical equipment, and household goods (17.3%), as well as books, stationery, and other goods (7.1%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity increased to 1.4% from 0.9% in January, marking its highest level since October 2025.
