Denmark’s unemployment rate stood at 2.7% in March 2026, unchanged from the previous month and remaining the highest level since September 2021. The number of unemployed persons declined by 1.7 thousand from a month earlier to 80.9 thousand, with the unemployment for men rising slightly to 3.1% from 2.9% in February, and for women it edging up to 3.1% from 3.0%. Net unemployment benefits fell by 1.9 thousand to 71 thousand, while cash assistance recipients increased by 0.1 thousand to 9.9 thousand. Among age groups, youth unemployment, covering job seekers aged 16 to 24, edged up to 1.6% from 1.5%, as did the rate for those aged 25 to 29 (5.0% vs 4.8%), 30 to 39 year olds (4.2% vs 4.1%), 40 to 49 year olds (2.7% vs 2.6%), 50 to 59 year olds (2.3% vs 2.2%), and 60 to 66 year olds (3.2% vs 3.1%).
