3 April 2026, 13:28 Slovenia: Trade Balance Shifts to Deficit.
Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of EUR 587.2 million in February 2026, with exports falling more sharply than imports, particularly in trade with EU non-member countries. Exports totaled €5.2 billion, down 38.9% year-on-year, as shipments to EU countries remained stable. In comparison, those to non-EU markets plunged 56.7%, largely due to weaker processing-related trade, which had been elevated a year earlier. Imports stood at €5.8 billion, down 9.7%, with purchases from EU partners down 1.3% and from non-EU countries falling 16.1%. In the first two months of the year, exports dropped 32.8% and imports 3.8%, with the deficit widening to €1.8 billion.
