Slovakia’s current account deficit narrowed to EUR 397.9 million in February 2026 from EUR 564.2 million in the corresponding month in the previous year. This marked the smallest monthly trade deficit since October 2025. The goods account swung to a surplus of EUR 41.7 million from a shortfall of EUR 136.5 million, while the primary income deficit narrowed to EUR 334.1 million from EUR 339.9 million. However, the services account surplus fell to EUR 22.2 million from EUR 26.6 million and the secondary income gap widened to EUR 127.7 million from EUR 114.4 million. For the January-February period, the current account gap narrowed to EUR 1,129.2 million from EUR 1,234.0 million in the same period a year ago.
