The annual inflation rate in Greece accelerated to 3.9% in March 2026 from 2.7% in the previous month. On the other hand, prices decreased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.5% vs 5.2%), clothing and footwear (2.1% vs 10.1%), and restaurants and hotels (6.1% vs 6.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices jumped by 2.6% in March, following a 0.1% increase in the preceding period. Meanwhile, the EU-harmonised annual inflation rate picked up to 3.4%, the highest reading since July 2025, and up from 3.1% previously.
