10 April 2026, 13:43  Slovenia: Industrial Output Downturn Eases.

Industrial production in Slovenia fell by 2.5% year-on-year in February 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 3.8% drop in the previous month. This marked the softest decline since December, driven largely by a higher output in the manufacturing sector, rising by 1.9% after a 4.2% decrease in January, while contraction in mining production significantly eased (-1.3% vs -16.3%). Conversely, activity in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning sank by 31.9%, reversing a 0.2% gain in the prior month. By industrial groupings, production increased for capital goods (9.1% vs 3.6%) and consumer goods (3.5% vs -11.3%), while intermediate goods output dropped at a faster pace (-10.6% vs -2.4%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity edged down by 0.1% in February, slipping from a downwardly revised 0.4% in the preceding period.
