4 March 2026, 11:38  Czech Republic: Inflation Extends Fall to 2016 Low.

The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic eased to 1.4% in February 2026 from 1.6% in the previous month, slightly below market expectations of 1.6%, according to preliminary estimates. This marked the lowest reading since October 2016, as price growth slowed for food and beverages (0.4% vs 1.3% in January), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4% vs 4.7%), and services (4.5% vs 4.7%). Deflation in goods also deepened (-0.7% vs -0.4%), while it slightly eased for energy (-7.8% vs -7.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in February, reversing a 0.9% increase in the prior month.
