20 March 2026, 15:18 Latvia: Producer Prices at 8-Month Low.
Producer prices in Latvia fell by 0.8% year-on-year in February 2026, following an upwardly revised 2.1% rise in the previous month. This marked the lowest reading since June 2025, as prices remained unchanged in manufacturing (0.4.%), weighed down by slower growth in the manufacture of beverages (3.1% vs 3.2%), basic metals (4.7% vs 6.4%), electrical equipment (0.5% vs 1.3%), and furniture (1.5% vs 1.8%). At the same time, costs declined sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-8.8% vs 6.1%). Conversely, prices increased in mining and quarrying (17.6% vs 17.4%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (6.3% vs 5.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 0.4% in February, easing from an upwardly revised 1.5% gain in the preceding period.
