By powertrain, gasoline vehicles remained the most popular in January, holding a 42.7% market share. However, the strongest momentum came from fully electric cars, whose share rose by 2 percentage points versus the 2025 full-year average, bringing them to 36.7%, close behind gasoline models. FEBIAC noted that the January setback should not be seen as representative of 2026 overall, as the commercial impact of the 102nd Brussels Motor Show is expected to materialize in the months ahead.
