3 February 2026, 01:50  USA: S&P Rebounds to Record High.

The S&P 500 rose 0.6% rebounding to a fresh record high on Monday, while the Dow gained 1.1% and the Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.7% as US stocks extended gains as pressure from last week’s sharp selloff in precious metals and cryptocurrencies continued to ease, allowing investors to refocus on earnings momentum and large-cap leadership. Technology and growth stocks led the move, with Apple jumping more than 3%, AMD climbing nearly 5%, and Micron surging over 5%, while Alphabet and Amazon traded firmly higher ahead of earnings later this week. Oracle edged lower after recent gains linked to its $50 billion capital-raising plan, while Nvidia slipped around 2% as uncertainty persisted over its stalled $100 billion OpenAI investment. Cyclicals also provided support, with industrials and financials advancing as Caterpillar rose nearly 5% and major banks broadly strengthened, while energy stocks lagged amid continued declines in oil prices.
