19 February 2026, 09:49  Finland: Consumer Prices Fall in January.

Consumer prices in Finland fell by 0.2% year-on-year in January 2026, reversing a 0.2% rise in the previous month. Main downward pressure came from declines in costs for housing and utilities (-2.3% vs -2% in December), health (-0.1% vs 5.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (-4.9% vs -2%). Additionally, inflation moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.6% vs 2%), information and communication (2.5% vs 4.2%), and recreation, sport and culture (1.3% vs 1.9%). On the other hand, prices increased for alcoholic beverages (3.7% vs 2.3%), clothing and footwear (0.3% vs -0.4%), and education services (11.1% vs 2.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.2% in January, slipping from a 0.2% gain in the preceding period.
