17 February 2026, 15:46 India: Sensex Up for 2nd Day.
India's BSE Sensex closed about 0.2% up at 83,451 after a volatile session on Tuesday, marking the second day of advances. Tech shares led the advance, supported by Infosys (+1.8%), which announced a partnership with U.S.-based AI firm Anthropic to develop enterprise AI solutions across multiple sub-segments. ITC and BEL added 2.3% and 2%, respectively. In the meantime, attention remains on the India AI Impact Summit, which started on Monday, as it brings together world leaders and top executives for the first global event of its kind in a developing country. Other notable gainers were Larsen & Toubro (+1.7%), Asian Paints (+1.7%), Titan (+1.5%) and Adani Ports (+1.3%). On the other hand, Eternal, Tata Steel, Trent and Reliance Industries posted the biggest losses, ranging between 0.9% and 1.5%.
