16 February 2026, 10:43  Europe: Markets Set for Positive Open.

European equity markets were poised to open modestly higher on Monday as risk appetite stabilized after a volatile week driven by concerns that artificial intelligence could disrupt certain sectors. Trading volumes are likely to remain subdued globally due to holidays in the US, China, and other Asian markets. Meanwhile, softer-than-expected US inflation data reinforced expectations of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve later this year, lending support to equities. Within the region, investors will monitor Eurozone industrial production figures and look to a Eurogroup meeting for broader policy signals. There are no major corporate earnings scheduled for release in Europe on Monday. In premarket trade, Euro Stoxx 50 and Stoxx 600 futures were both up around 0.1%.
