13 February 2026, 13:53 Poland: Inflation Rate Falls Less than Anticipated.
The annual inflation rate in Poland eased for the fourth month to a near two-year low of 2.2% in January 2026 from 2.4% in the prior month, primarily due to last year's high base effect. Still, the reading came slightly above forecasts of 2%. Prices increased in key categories, including food & non-alcoholic beverages (+2.4%), housing (+2.9%), and energy bills (+3.4%), whereas transportation costs declined by 7%. On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.6% in January, after being flat in the previous month.
