The FTSE MIB fell 0.2% to close at 45,753 on Tuesday, retreating from the 25-year high touched yesterday as markets continued to assess the outlook of European growth. Financial stocks weighed on the index with both MPS and Banco BPM dropping more than 2%. Eni slipped 0.9%, giving back earlier gains as oil prices turned lower, while Ferrari (-1.0%) and Stellantis (-2.1%) also declined. In contrast, STMicroelectronics rose 5.3% to track the global chip sector and Leonardo extended yesterday's surge as markets continued to assess the outlookfor defense amid higher geopolitical risks.
