Powell called the move as part of President Trump’s ongoing pressure on the central bank to cut interest rates. Investor sentiment was further shaken by escalating unrest in Iran. Trump said on Sunday that he was considering potential actions against Iran, while also discussing acquiring Greenland. Among the notable decliners were Stellantis (-2.8%), Italgas (-2.4%), Prysmian (-2.2%), Bper Banca (-1.8%), and Snam (-1.7%).
