Slovakia’s trade surplus widened sharply to EUR 560.2 million in October 2025 from EUR 319.7 million in the same month a year earlier and was well above market expectations of EUR 370 million. This was the largest surplus since June 2024. Sales to EU countries rose 2%, while exports to non-EU markets fell 8%. Meanwhile, imports declined at a faster pace of 2.7% to EUR 9,925.9 million, mainly due to a 14% drop in miscellaneous manufactured articles. Inbound shipments from EU countries fell 2%, and those from non-EU partners were lower by 4%. For the January–October period, the trade surplus narrowed to EUR 2,297 million from EUR 3,089.2 million a year earlier.
