9 December 2025, 08:56  Netherlands: November Inflation Confirmed at 2.9%

The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands eased to 2.9% in November 2025, confirming preliminary estimates and down from 3.1% in October. This marks the lowest reading in three months, driven by a sharp slowdown in inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.4% vs 4.3% in October) and transport (1.8% vs 3.5%). Price growth also slowed for housing and utilities (4.1% vs 4.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2% vs 2.2%), and recreation and culture (2.6% vs 3.1%). Conversely, inflation picked up for clothing and shoes (0.6% vs 0.1%), restaurants and hotels (4.4% vs 3.9%), and miscellaneous goods and services (4.8% vs 4.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.8%, the steepest decline since November 2023, following a 0.3% gain in October. Meanwhile, the harmonized consumer price index (HICP), which excludes housing costs and is used for EU-level comparisons, rose 2.6% year-on-year, down from 3% in October.
