5 December 2025, 20:41 Romania: GDP Growth Hits Highest in a Year.
Romania’s GDP expanded 1.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, matching initial data and accelerating from 0.3% growth in the previous quarter, second estimates showed. This marked the sharpest economic expansion since Q3 2024, supported by growth in gross fixed capital formation (+8.3%), government spending (+3.2%), and household consumption (+0.5%). Net external demand also contributed positively, as exports rose 3.8%, while imports increased at a slower 1.8%. On the production side, growth was strongest in agriculture, forestry, and fishing (+9.2%), information and communication (+6.1%), and construction (+12.1%). On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy contracted 0.2%, the first decline since Q2 2024, reversing the 1.0% expansion recorded in the previous period.
