3 December 2025, 03:00  Canada: TSX Pressured by Commodity Producers.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index fell 0.2% to 31,049 on Tuesday, pressured by weakness in commodity producers as softer gold and oil prices dragged miners and energy names lower. Barrick Gold slid 3.1% and Imperial Oil fell 3.5%, setting the pace for the sector’s decline. In contrast, Shopify jumped 4.9%, recouping part of Monday’s sharp 6.3% drop after widespread payment outages affected thousands of its merchants during Cyber Monday. Bank of Nova Scotia gained 2.8% after delivering stronger than expected Q4 earnings supported by capital markets strength and higher wealth management fees, while attention now turns to upcoming results from RBC (+1%), TD Bank (+1.1%), BMO (+1.1%), CIBC (+1.5%) and National Bank (+1.8%) later in the week.
