24 December 2025, 13:14  USA: U.S. Futures Edge Lower Ahead of Holiday-Shortened Session.

Futures tied to U.S. equities fell slightly on Wednesday after the S&P 500 closed at a fresh record on Tuesday and extended its winning streak to a fourth straight day. Despite stronger-than-expected GDP growth data, traders continued to price in Fed rate cuts next year. The U.S. economy expanded 4.3% yoy in Q3 2025, the fastest pace in two years, reflecting increases in consumer spending, exports, and government expenditure. Meanwhile, National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said Tuesday that the Fed is not easing policy quickly enough, arguing that the artificial intelligence boom is supporting growth while also helping to cool inflation. Tech stocks again led gains, with Nvidia climbing 3% to lead the Dow, Broadcom jumping 2.3%, and Amazon adding 1.6%. Simultaneously, Tesla slipped 0.7% to USD 485 after briefly touching a record high near USD 500. The New York Stock Exchange will close early at 1 PM ET today for Christmas Eve and remain closed Thursday for Christmas Day.
