16 December 2025, 20:56  Italy: FTSE MIB Eases as Markets Reassess Fed Policy Outlook.

The FTSE MIB fell 0.3% to close at 43,990 on Tuesday, tracking weaker global markets after US job growth rebounded more than expected in November. Stronger private-sector employment reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve may pause its rate-cutting cycle for a period. Financial stocks traded mixed: Intesa Sanpaolo slipped 0.1%, BPER lost 0.9% and Banco BPM fell nearly 1.5%, while UniCredit gained 0.7% and Mediobanca advanced 1.1%. Defense stocks weighed on the index, with Leonardo plunging 3.9% as European peers declined after US officials signaled NATO-style security guarantees for Ukraine under a proposed peace deal with Russia.
