15 December 2025, 22:51 Italy: FTSE MIB Hits One-Month High.
The FTSE MIB climbed 1.4% to close at 44,117, its highest level in more than a month, tracking gains across European markets ahead of Thursday’s ECB policy decision. Rates are widely expected to remain unchanged. Financial stocks led the advance, with UniCredit up 2.3%, Intesa Sanpaolo 2.1%, and Generali 1.1%. MPS, Mediolanum, Popolare di Sondrio, and Banco BPM each gained around 2.6%–2.7%. Automakers also moved higher, with Ferrari up 0.3% and Stellantis 0.7%, while utilities advanced, led by Enel at 1.6% and Snam at 0.4%. On the downside, Eni fell 0.4% on lower oil prices, and Leonardo edged down as investors awaited developments from Ukraine peace talks in Berlin. In the US, upcoming employment and inflation data remained in focus as markets assess the outlook for Fed rate cuts.
