10 December 2025, 14:46  Cyprus: Trade Deficit Narrows in October.

Cyprus’ trade deficit narrowed to EUR 764.4 million in October 2025 from EUR 819.7 million in the same month a year ago, as exports fell much faster than imports, preliminary estimates showed. Exports declined 13% year-on-year to EUR 388.9 million, dragged by lower sales to non-EU countries (-20.3%), while shipments to the EU increased (+14.1%. Total exports include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels, which amounted to EUR 46.1 million, down from EUR 52.9 million in October 2024. Imports fell 8.9% to EUR 1,153.3 million due to reduced purchases from non-EU countries (-18.7%), while arrivals from the EU rose slightly (+0.2%). Total imports also include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels, which totaled EUR 106.5 million, compared with EUR 82.5 million a year earlier. For the first ten months of 2025, Cyprus’ trade deficit widened to EUR 6,654.7 million from EUR 5,606.7 million in the corresponding period of 2024.
