7 November 2025, 12:54 Czech Republic: Retail Sales Growth Slows in September.
Retail sales in the Czech Republic rose by 2.6% year-on-year in September 2025, missing market forecasts of a 4% increase and slowing from a downwardly revised 3.3% advance in the previous month. The slowdown was mainly due to softer increase in sales of automotive fuel (9.5% vs 11% in August) and non-food products (2.8% vs 3.7%). Additionally, sales declined for food, beverages and tobacco (-0.2% vs 0.1%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity fell by 0.2% in September, slipping from a downwardly revised 0.5% gain in the preceding period.
