6 November 2025, 14:54 India: Sensex Ends at Over 3-Week Low.
India's BSE Sensex closed about 0.2% down at 83,311 on Thursday, its lowest since mid-October, after a choppy session that extended losses for a second straight day. Concerns over sustained foreign fund outflows outweighed optimism from the inclusion of four Indian companies in the MSCI Global Standard Index. Meanwhile, traders braced for more corporate earnings results, while caution persisted over ongoing US-India trade talks. On the data front, a final PMI survey confirmed growth of India’s services sector slowed in October, while remaining strong overall. On equities, Power Grid, Eternal, BEL, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank and NTPC were the major laggards, losing up to 3.1%. By contrast, Asian Paints emerged as the top performer, up 4.7%, as it gained higher weightage in MISCI's Global Standard Indexes effective November 24. Other top gainers included Reliance Industries (+1.5%), Mahindra & Mahindra (+1%), UltraTech Cement (+1%), Tata Consultancy Services (+0.8%) and Maruti (+0.6%).
