6 November 2025, 00:37  Brazil: Ibovespa Sets Fresh Record Ahead of Copom.

The Ibovespa soared 1.7% to close at a record 153,294 on Wednesday, driven by gains in heavyweight stocks and a wave of upbeat corporate earnings as investors awaited the central bank’s policy decision. Vale and Petrobras led advances, rising 2.1% and 1.8%, respectively, despite weaker iron ore and oil benchmarks. Major lenders also outperformed with Banco Do Brasil, Santander, and Bradesco adding between 1.9% and 2.9%. On the downside, CSN lost 4.3% even after solid earnings. Markets now await Copom’s decision to keep the interest rate at 15%, focusing on the statement’s tone for clues on future policy.
