5 November 2025, 17:46  Brazil: Private Sector Downturn Eases in October.

The S&P Global Composite PMI for Brazil rose to 48.2 in October 2025 from a near 4-1/2-year low of 46 in the prior month. The latest reading signaled a seventh consecutive month of contraction in private sector activity, though the downturn eased from September, amid softer declines in both manufacturing (PMI at 48.2 vs 46.5) and services (PMI at 47.7 vs 46.3). New business intakes fell only slightly, marking the weakest decline since April. As with output, the pace of contraction in sales eased across both manufacturing and services. Private sector employment was broadly unchanged, as job losses in manufacturing were largely offset by hiring in services. Meanwhile, input costs and selling prices rose at stronger rates, with price pressures remaining concentrated in the service sector.
