5 November 2025, 14:37  Ireland: Unemployment Rate Ticks Down to 5%

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Ireland edged down to 5% in October 2025, from an upwardly revised 5.1% in the previous month. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 1,700 month-on-month, reaching 147,400. By gender, the unemployment rate for males ticked lower to 5% from a revised 5.1% in September, while the rate for females remained unchanged at 5%. Looking at age groups, the unemployment rate for people aged 15–24 years rose slightly to 13.4% from a revised 13.3% in the prior month. For those aged 25–74 years, the unemployment rate fell marginally to 3.8% from 3.9% in the previous month. By comparison, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.2% in October 2024.
