5 November 2025, 10:34 China: Beijing Eases Some U.S. Tariffs But Soybean Duties Remain.
China said it will suspend for one year the 24% additional tariffs imposed on U.S. goods in April, while retaining the 10% duties introduced in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs, the State Council confirmed Wednesday. The Cabinet’s tariff commission also announced plans to remove duties of up to 15% on certain U.S. agricultural imports starting November 10. Still, U.S. soybeans will remain subject to a 13% tariff, including a 3% base rate, keeping them less competitive than Brazilian supplies.
