Domestically, building permits jumped 7.2% from the prior month in September, the fastest pace in four months. However, upside momentum was limited by weak Chinese factory data in October, with private PMI figures coming below estimates, while official data pointed to the sharpest drop in six months. Investors also stayed cautious ahead of Australia’s interest rate decision later today as signs of cost pressures grow. Early gainers included Vista Group International (1.5%), Gentrack Group (0.9%), Auckland International Airport (0.7%), and Fletcher Building (0.6%).
