4 November 2025, 03:01  New Zealand: Stocks Extend Winning Streak to 8th Session.

Shares in New Zealand rose 78 points or 0.6% to 13,635 on Tuesday morning, extending gains for the eighth straight session and holding at their highest level since mid-October. Commercial services, industrial services, and financials led the advance after gains in Wall Street’s S&P 500 and Nasdaq on Monday, ahead of key U.S. private employment data and ongoing quarterly earnings reports. Domestically, building permits jumped 7.2% from the prior month in September, the fastest pace in four months. However, upside momentum was limited by weak Chinese factory data in October, with private PMI figures coming below estimates, while official data pointed to the sharpest drop in six months. Investors also stayed cautious ahead of Australia’s interest rate decision later today as signs of cost pressures grow. Early gainers included Vista Group International (1.5%), Gentrack Group (0.9%), Auckland International Airport (0.7%), and Fletcher Building (0.6%).
