21 November 2025, 02:12 Australia: Factory Activity Swings to Expansion.
The S&P Global Australia Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.6 in November from 49.7 in October signaling a renewed expansion after contracting in the previous month. New orders for goods increased for the first time since August supported by new product launches and stronger demand although export demand continued to decline as global conditions remained subdued. Business confidence improved to a five month high as firms anticipated better output trends supported by business expansion plans and stronger domestic demand. Manufacturing input prices rose at a softer pace even as supply chain pressures intensified with another deterioration in vendor performance while firms maintained limited pricing power as goods selling prices increased at the softest pace in a year.
