18 November 2025, 20:28 Italy: FTSE MIB Falls on Global Tech and Fed Rate Uncertainty.
The FTSE MIB fell 2.1% to close at 42,839 on Tuesday, amid global concerns over inflated tech valuations and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s next moves. Traders are bracing for earnings from AI giant Nvidia, while expectations of a rate cut significantly diminished in recent days. Anticipation is also building for the delayed September US employment report due to the government shutdown. All Italian stocks traded lower, with the exception of Hera, which rose 0.8%. The worst performers included Telecom Italia (-6.7%), Stellantis (-4.4%), MPS (-3.7%), and Banca Popolare di Sondrio (-3.5%). Among the heavyweights, UniCredit fell 1.9%, Intesa Sanpaolo dropped 2.9%, Generali declined 1.5%, Eni fell 1.2%, Enel dropped 0.8%, and Ferrari lost 3.2%. In the tech sector, STMicroelectronics (-2.5%) and Leonardo (-1.8%) also posted losses alongside TIM.
