14 November 2025, 17:53 Canada: Manufacturing Sales Rise in September.
Canada’s manufacturing sales rose 3.3% month-over-month to C$72.1 billion in September 2025, rebounding from a 1% drop in August and exceeding expectations of a 2.8% increase. This marked the highest level since February 2025. Sales increased in 14 of 21 subsectors, led by transportation equipment and petroleum and coal. Transportation equipment sales climbed 9.2% to C$11.7 billion, also the highest since February, with gains across all industry groups except railroad rolling stock; motor vehicles rose 11.8% and aerospace products and parts 13%. Petroleum and coal sales advanced 5.3% to C$7.6 billion on higher prices and volumes. Sales increased in nine provinces, mainly Ontario (3.4%) and Quebec (2.6%). Year-on-year, total manufacturing sales rose 2.7%.
