13 November 2025, 23:33 France: CAC 40 Edges Lower on Thursday.
The CAC 40 edged 0.1% lower to close at 8,233 on Thursday, having earlier reached record highs as a softer tone from US markets weighed on global risk appetite. Luxury mega-caps LVMH and Hermes set the pace of the downturn, each dropping 1.6% after a murky outlook for China rattled investor faith in the luxury recovery. Meanwhile Edenred failed to rebound and closed 3.4% lower after cutting its 2026 profit guidance and plunging the previous day. Kering 2.3%, Carrefour 2.1%, Credit Agricole 1.9% and TotalEnergies 1.6% were among the top performers as broader market uncertainties eased after US President Donald Trump signed a bill to end the longest government shutdown in US history, paving the way for a gradual return of federal economic data releases.
